Images in Cloth 10

A couple of hours of work were put into St. George Friday.  Almost all of the fabric pieces have been selected, patterned, cut out, and lightly fused to the backing.  We chose the material for the spear–a challenge to have it be strong enough to stand out without being too distracting, too much of a diagonal element dividing the composition in two.  We are beginning to talk about the quilting patterns that will best enhance our fabric choices, as well as the type of decorative material for the horse’s bridle and harness.

A photograph will give you a better idea of our progress.  There is still much to be done.  I had never realized the magnitude of the work involved in a project like this.  So far, we have met 10 times, working hours during each session.
